Overview
Eplexity, an AWS partner and cloud services provider, needed a centralized SaaS platform to help enterprise clients manage their cloud gateway services with ease. Their operations team juggled cloud setup, access control, plugin integration, and support workflows spread across siloed tools. The challenge? Build a unified interface that could bring clarity to complexity, without slowing down the people behind it.
How can we make managing cloud services intuitive for enterprise users without compromising power or flexibility?
My Role
As the lead UX designer, I partnered with a small team led by the agency, WIldcard NYC. I was responsible for end-to-end experience design from stakeholder workshops and journey mapping to wireframes, visual design, and QA. My goal wasn’t just usability. It was to build trust in a platform that handled critical infrastructure tasks while feeling as seamless as any modern SaaS product.
A Fragmented Start
When I joined the project, Eplexity’s cloud services were supported by a patchwork of tools, each handling a small piece of a much larger puzzle. Customers were often overwhelmed trying to make sense of configuration details, especially those without deep technical expertise. The platform needed to scale with enterprise complexity, but feel effortless to use.

Designing for the Real World
We kicked off with stakeholder interviews and working sessions to map the full range of workflows from provisioning gateways to assigning roles and submitting support tickets. My research uncovered a critical insight: while the platform served technical users, the primary friction came from how scattered and inconsistent the UI was.
We weren’t designing a power tool. We were designing peace of mind.

Building the System, Fast and with Purpose
I designed a modular interface to support the most common workflows, broken into clearly defined areas:
Gateway Configuration
Letting users easily add and edit gateway specs with guardrails in place
Rule Management
Simplifying complex permission logic with clarity-focused layout and labels
Monitoring + Alerts
Real-time insights that didn’t overwhelm, surfacing the most important metrics upfront
Support Workflows
Streamlined pathways to get help fast, built for enterprise-scale needs
We ran regular reviews with engineering to ensure feasibility and smooth handoff. Because implementation was tight, I also annotated designs for clarity and defined interaction behaviors.

The Impact
The new cloud management portal dramatically reduced onboarding time and boosted internal confidence.

Built for Now, Designed for What’s Next
The Eplexity cloud portal laid a scalable foundation for future improvements, like adding dynamic dashboards, customizable alerts, and deeper plugin integrations, that eventually led to their service partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
By empowering users to handle even technical tasks with ease, we didn’t just ship a product. We gave them peace of mind.
